Nightjar Survey Training
The Coastal Chapter of Mississippi Master Naturalist have adopted 3 survey routes on the coast (Jackson County) to monitor for nightjar activity in the summer as part of the Nightjar Survey Network's community science monitoring efforts.
We are hosting a program on nightjars on Saturday, May 3rd at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi to prepare volunteers for the upcoming Nightjar Surveys this summer. Even if you can't commit to helping with the nighttime surveys, come learn about these awesome birds! During this training, we will cover general nightjar background, local species, and monitoring survey protocols.
