First Annual Butterfly Count (Southwest Harrison County)

Join us for the first annual NABA butterfly count for southwest Harrison County on May 21, 2022!

The designated sample area will fall within a sample circle with a 7.5 mile radius from the center, which will be located at the intersection of I-10 and Menge Avenue.

This will be a learning experience for all of us, so don't feel like you aren't qualified to participate!

There are a couple ways to participate. You can travel to the field sites and do the butterfly counts, or you can be a garden sitter where you sit at a pollinator garden and do counts throughout the day in that garden.

Scientists, citizen scientists, nature photographers, birders, and naturalists of all ages are welcome!

There is a $3 fee to participate.
