Duties:

We are all facing some very uncertain conditions within this pandemic situation. For our program, it has limited our ability to host cleanup events that bring people together to fight a common enemy - marine debris. But it's not the MSCCP that keeps this litter-fighting warship afloat, it's our hardworking volunteers, it's YOU.

How can you do this? By having a solo or group cleanup!

Spend a morning, afternoon, or a beautilful Mississippi Gulf Coast sunset removing trash from the beach.

The MSCCP can lend out supply bins to those who are wanting to have a solo or group cleanup.

Once we receive your request, the Mississippi Coastal Cleanup team will put together a bin of supplies, giving you all you need for a successful cleanup. We will schedule a pick up and drop off time for your bin at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi, MS. Supplies must be returned to the MSCCP.

Supply Bins will contain:

  • disposible gloves (S-XL)
  • Data Collection Pack (includes clipboards, data cards, and pencils)
  • Trash bags
  • bucket
  • first aid kit
  • trash grabbers
  • hand sanitizer

Returning your Supply Bin

Once you have completed your cleanup and recorded data on the data card, bin(s) need to be dropped off at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to share any thoughts, concerns, or ideas you may have. You can reach the MSCCP Coordinator directly @ em1769@msstate.edu.
