Duties:
- Docent Led Programs
- Work with staff to develop and implement regularly scheduled programs (monthly, quarterly, etc.) for various audiences.
- i.e., bird watching, boardwalk talks, litter cleanups, native plant class
- Work with staff to develop and implement regularly scheduled programs (monthly, quarterly, etc.) for various audiences.
- Education Assistant
- Assist education staff with P-12 fieldtrips and adult programs as needed
- Assist education staff in developing new programs as needed
- Trail Maintenance
- Trimming brush, removing limbs from trails, weed eating, invasive species removal, maintaining interpretive signage
- Grounds Keeping
- General weeding, trimming, planting; monthly or as needed
- Help maintain pollinator garden
- Phenology Trail
- Assist staff in completing the steps to make Reserve trails part of the Gulf Coast Phenology Trail
- Volunteer to monitor plant species as part of the phenology trail project-time commitment TBD
- Microplastics Sampling
- Learn microplastics sampling and analysis protocol
- Collect sediment and water samples from sites along Weeks Bay and analyze for microplastics quarterly
- Nurdle Patrol (nurdle = a very small pellet of plastic which serves as raw material in the manufacture of plastic products)
- Learn nurdle patrol protocol and sample selected sites monthly

- Help staff recruit volunteers for coastal cleanup
